2026 Nominations for Academy Offices

Academy Nominations are now open for the following positions:

• VICE PRESIDENT
• RESEARCH DIRECTOR
• DELEGATE
• NOMINATION COMMITTEE MEMBER

2026 Nomination by Petition Form

Nominations by Petition Close on September 1st

Initial Election Slate will be announced by July 29th after which there will be a period of Nominations by Petition Ending Sept 1st.

Final Slate will be announced on Sept 9th and Elections will open on Oct 1st and run through the month.

The Academy of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Physical Therapy is governed by a five-person Executive Committee (EC) composed of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Chief Delegate. The Academy Board of Directors consists of the EC members and 4 Directors.  Visit our Leadership page for a current roster.

The term of office of each officer shall be three (3) years, or until the election and assumption of office of his/her successor. No member shall serve more than two consecutive terms in the same office, but shall be eligible again after one year’s absence from office.  

Newly elected Officers and Nominating Committee will assume office on February 5th, 2027. Delegate will assume office on January 1st, 2027 We invite you to nominate yourself or other Academy Members to be slated for these positions.

Serving as an elected officer or Nominating Committee member offers wonderful networking possibilities.

If you are considering running for an elected position: 

• It is expected that elected APTA CVP leaders will not be restricted by their employment responsibilities from attending, and be willing to attend, Academy Board and Business meetings when required by their leadership roles. 

• Review Board Commitment Form and/or Volunteer Commitment Form
• Maintain APTA and Academy Membership
